Expo 2006
Part of "Around
The World Run" at Fort Bragg, North Carolina
March 20, 2006
The
Australian Festival was recently contacted by Aussie Garda Collison who is
stationed at Fort Bragg with her husband who is a US Serviceman. As part
of "Around The World Run" to be hosted at Fort Bragg
Garda is setting up a booth to promote Australia in the Cultural Expo 2006
area. The Expo is aimed at celebrating cultural and international
diversity. The event will be held on Saturday 1 April, 2006.
"Around The World Run" is
operated by the Friends of Civil Affairs of Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
This run intends to provide the community a small glimpse into the varied
missions of Civil Affairs assisting people in need worldwide. The
multi-cultural program includes displays that span the ethnic divides. The
purpose of this morale building community affair will serve to entertain,
educate, and inform military and civilian families alike. This is an
opportune time to celebrate and recognize a unit with a truly Global
mission of providing humanitarian assistance. Additionally - "Around
The World Run" is a Track and Field accredited run. that is open
to the general public - to register - Click

* Festival Notes - The Australian Festival
is located near Fort Campbell, Tennessee which has provided superb
volunteer and key staff support to the festival over the years. The
Australian Festival solutes the work of our Australian and American Armed
Forces around the globe and we encourage participation in this worthy
event!
* Thank-you Note from Garda
"Peter, you were incredibly generous - I don't know how to thank you. I have been telling everyone I know about the Australia Festival and we had posters up on the day as well as giving away the newspapers. The koalas and
t-shirts were a big hit with the kids - I had a special kids only giveaway and the Aussie table. The gift packs were obviously used as part of the 'big' raffle/door prize.
I look forward to meeting you at the festival in September. We, in the Fay Club, are currently planning a road trip to the Festival."
Thanks again,
Garda
